Deathsong Chronicles - Symphony 9

"You are Kaithlyn, sister of Kaffleen. You are a psychic. You have vowed to free your sister from the darkness of Aria, and you do not have the power to do it." said Sieghart.

"...who are you? How do you know about this?" said Kaithlyn, eyes narrowing.

"I am known by many names, among them the most common, Sieghart." came the reply.

"Sieghart....the guardian. So what do you want? If you can't fight my sister, I don't see why you even came to find me, as I'm sure you know I lost to her." said Kaithlyn.

"I came for a request." said Sieghart.

"...speak."

"If you would agree, will you come with me and join the alliance against your sister?" uttered Sieghart.

"And what would you gain?"

"Nothing but her attention, so Xepher can learn more from her libraries, and get the knowledge to destroy Aria. He is within her citadel now, disguised."

Kaithlyn conjured her Hi Rai Nodachi, and spun it around once, advancing on Sieghart. "And if you need my help, I would expect you to best me first." said Kaithlyn coolly as she charged.

Sieghart conjured his Rave blade, and parried five quick thrusts from the psychic. She then threw a psyche wave at him, one designed to push a target off their feet, in this case off the tower itself.

The wave's target went sailing out, cursing. He flung out a hand, and a rope tipped with a spear-like point stabbed onto the granite surface. A ninja rope.

He swung back onto the tower and continued to fight, never giving her enough time to summon up the energies required for her psychic abilities.

At last, he kicked out at her legs, and forced her to the ground. Blade on her neck, he said:" This good enough?"

"Tch. Whatever. But I would have done better if I hadn't spent so much energy on altering that demon downstairs. Alright, I'll come. But I can't guarantee anything."

The alliance of soul warriors, consisting of humans, elves, dwarves, hybrids of all kinds and angel knights converged at the rendezvous, and set a course straight for the capital, Sieghart, Ruby, Emily, Shadowz, Jennifer and Kaithlyn at their head.

They rode through the night, although Jennifer was put to sleep by a spell from Shadowz after adamantly refusing to do so. A small group, including Emily and Jennifer, splintered off from the main force to safety.

As they climbed the last range of hills that would bring them within sight of the capital, a legion of demons, humans, orcs, elves, goblins, trolls, ogres, ifrits, shadow assassins, sprites, golems, archangels, gigantic elephants mounted with towers filled with archers, ghost cavalry and many, many more greeted them.

With a lengthy and collective roar, the alliance charged at the legion. The legion gave a roar to match that of the alliance and charged too.

A rumble shook the palace continuously. Huntagon muttered a curse as his spell was interupted, a spell he was supposedly teaching Xepher.

He crossed over to the nearest window, and peered out. And gasped, his extreme composure slipping just for a moment. Literally billions of beings on the fields outside the citadel, fighting one another.

"Why wasn't I informed of a coming invasion?!" he yelled, and raced off with a short command to Xepher "Stay here!"

Xepher stared out at the window, and surveyed the forces. There was Soroga, all right, slashing and hacking away with such power that the demonic legion practically fled from him.

His sixth sense kicked in, and he rolled aside as two sets of claws sliced cleanly through the spot where he was.

He stared in shock at his attacker. It was Nocturna. He had a devilish glow in his eyes, and snarled inhumanly. As he lunged again, Xepher reacted instinctively, summoning a force spell so strong Nocturna was blasted away across the room.

"So..." hissed Nocturna."You really are a spy. Reveal yourself. Her majesty already knows, anyway. There is no point in this anymore."

Xepher removed the disguise, summoned Cypheria in sword form, and said:" If you know, there is really no more point in my disguise. Aria's time is at an end."

Nocturna leapt back, and three harpie girls descended from the parapet above. "Kill him now, Victoria, Lynn, Eunice. Now." hissed Nocturna. The three avian forms flew at Xepher.
