The Rift Warriors were assailed by a horde of nether demons. These were posted here to prevent the rift warriors from entering Rursus, to aid the defenders' efforts against Aria.
And they would have succeeded in their dire task, if not for the overpowered Soul Warriors with the knights. Xepher and the others sliced open demon after demon, blasted them with spells, ripped them apart and eradicated them with countless other ways.
The portal frame beckoned. Second by second, they neared it.

The dragons flew over utter destruction.
Wherever the demon hordes went, they left absolutely nothing alive. Not even a single blade of grass or a beetle remained. The very earth was scorched by the demons' innate flames.
The riders gasped, and even the dragons were startled. Xaxas gave a terrifying roar, and as one the dragon flight dove downwards to lay a cleansing blast of flame into a horde.
And pulled back, for a swarm of winged demons flew up to meet them, maces and other horrific weapons held high.
The dragons retaliated by spitting flames. Most of the demons were struck down, and those that remained aloft were whittled down by the Elite Guard and Emily.
Emily herself leapt from demon to demon, cracking skulls and ripping wings off. After several kills, she leapt atop a dragon to get her bearings.
Razel was no less astonishing, the lead Elite Guard lashing his whip out many times, each time taking a head off, occasionally muttering words of power to summon deadly lightning.
"We must get to the other dragon flights! We are wasting time here!" shouted Razel to the dragon queen.
"There is some truth in that." muttered Xaxas as she sliced a demon into confetti with a swipe of her claws.
The flight veered off to the direction of the other dragon flights' lairs.

An orc scout, sent off to tell the Alliance of the agreement of the Horde, trudged through the jungle, his massive axe harnessed, long dagger drawn.
Krasin grunted. He picked up a disgusting scent in the air. Brows crushed together as he recognised the foul scent that could only belong to one kind of being.
Demons.
Hiding in the undergrowth, Krasin saw a couple of demon warriors scanning the landscape. The silence of the forest was absolute.
It seemed that the demons were seeking points of weakness in the area, to be used if the demons met resistance here.
Krasin unsheathed his axe, and sprang out at them, giving a loud battle cry. To his immense surprise, the demons actually jumped at the roar, so startled were they by the attack.
The orc's axe sliced cleanly through the throat of the foremost demon. It's head fell one way, the body another.
Now the other demon drew his massive sword, as long as a human. The demon swung, narrowly missing Krasin. The next hit was parried by the axe, and the fragile blade shattered. The demon's torso was sliced in two.
Krasin grinned and moved on.

Warriors arrived in the holy grounds almost every hour. The number of Alliance warriors increased rapidly. Now all they needed was word from Jesslyn and the Horde.
===================================================================
Endless reared his horrific countenance, shrieking as he spread his massive wings for the first time since millenia ago. Wings that spanned the heavens.
He snorted, and a gush of purple, evil flames burst out of his snout. The ground in front of him was instantly scorched again, but the difference was that the ground was now utterly black.
Endless started to move towards the holy grounds, leading countless demons.
